Frequently Asked Questions

question-mark1

How does TalentFeed work?

TalentFeed works with innovative and growing companies across the world - the common theme we help them find the best people in the market to grow their business.

We supply talented candidates both on a permanent, contract and freelance basis.

How quickly do you respond to applications?

We promise to review your CV / profile within 24 hours of an application. As of November 2011 we meet this promise over 95% of the time. Over 80% are reviewed within 12 hours.

By review we mean we will either email or call to follow up. This will let you know whether we want to take the application forward or that the role you applied will not be suitable.

Who reviews my CV?

Each application is reviewed by a Senior Recruiter with a minimum of 5 years experience. If you want to discuss an application with us just email and/or call to discuss.

Once your CV is submitted to a client your CV is generally reviewed by the HR team, Internal recruitment and/or hiring manager.

Do we we need to meet face-to-face?

We're not into wasting peoples time in the job application process. Initially, we will do a phone screen with you to see whether you are a good fit. If we look to progress your application we will either meet face-to-face and/or arrange a Skype chat for an online interview.

Dependant on which service our client is using (see TalentFeed LITE and PREMIUM) will depend on whether we meet face-to-face.

At interview stage and later where possible we always want to meet our candidates. Especially prior to an interview so we can provide personal specific coaching to help you succeed in the hiring process.

Will you tell me your clients name?

Yes, but only when we have had a good conversation, we're both happy to work together and your happy with the job description.

Unfortunately, we can't just tell you straight away each time because there are more dodgy recruiters out there - who look to get leads from you by prentending to be interested where else your interviewing. They then use that information to submit their own candidates for the role.l

This harms your job search and also our client relationship.

Our approach is to be as open as possible without harming everyones interest - we'll always look to provide as much client information as possible. Likewise, as we want a relationship built on trust we'd welcome all our client names kept 'CONFIDENTIAL'.

What happens when my CV is submitted?

Once you are happy with the role and we agree to move forwards we will submit your CV with cover profile to our client. When this happens an automated email is triggered which sends you a confirmation of the hiring process (please let us know if you don't receive it).

This confirms 100% your CV has been submitted at that date / time to the company HR or Hiring Manager.

Please Note: if another recruiter contacts you about the same role then do not make more than one application - it actually harms your application and makes us look unprofessional.

Will you tell me if I have been rejected, and why?

100% yes, from feedback over the years we understand that this is actually one of the main causes of annoyance towards agencies. Whether your CV is rejected at CV stage or throughout the latter hiring process you will be told ASAP.

Dependant on the client it can often be difficult to get comprehensive feedback. But our goal is to always provide something helpful to our candidates so they can use that moving forwards.

What happens at offer stage?

We promise to let you know when we know. We don't mess around playing games with candidates making them wait and tactics like 'trial closing' used by the more traditional recruiter's.

We will be upfront and honest, and we always work on your behalf. We want to get the best possible deal for our candidate but also what the client is happy to offer - ideally a win-win scenario.

Likewise, we'd really appreciate total honesty at this stage of the process - honestly we understand that you might have other offers, ones you prefer, more money and/or better location.

Just tell us.

The most frustrating thing for us and you is if there is not clear and honest communication. We've heard all the excuses before so were well versed.

Things happen in life and business - lets not make things complicated by being dishonest. TalentFeed consultants will be grown ups we understand not always our job is the right job.

What happens when I accept a job?

Hopefully we've helped you secure a really exciting new role! At this point when you have accepted we would request a confirmation by email of your acceptance and some basic information for legal purposes.

We will communicate with our client and candidate throughout to make sure the offer process is handled smoothly. We'll let you know what happens and when things happen.

Our goal will be to deliver an offer letter from the client quickly as possible, with minimum fuss to our candidates.

Please Note: At this stage we have had years of experience people delaying signing paperwork, signing paperwork then pulling out and much more facny excuses! In-line with our open policy please just communicate with us and tell us if you're having doubts.

We won't be pushy we just want to understand, and obviously if you don't want the job we can start again to look for someone more relevant.

Visit our blog section of the website for useful tools and resources. We update our blog 3 times per week with new, refreshing and leading ideas on career search.

I'm not actively looking but interested to see what's happening in the market

At TalentFeed we build specific talent pools of skills and jobs. It's fine if you're not actively looking (most of our candidates are generally not) but by getting in contact we'll alert you to any juicy jobs that would tempt you away.

Don't worry we're not like a standard agency who will just send you a job list update every month. We'll only contact you when we think there is something specific we know is exciting that you'll want to hear about.

What is Social Recruiting?

Social Recruiting is the process of using social media tools for recruitment. This includes Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Xing and many more...

Our approach is based on a Social Recruiting philosophy to engage 'passive' candidates and create a relationship. You may not be looking for a job at that point but we want to establish rapport so that when the time is right we can help.
